Cyprus is leveraging its growing casino industry to attract international tourists, with a particular focus on the online gambling sector. The Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission (CGCSC) has issued new licenses to operators offering online sports betting and casino games, aiming to position the country as a regional hub for regulated gambling.

The government has also partnered with private companies to develop cutting-edge technology for secure and transparent online gambling. Revenues from the industry are being reinvested in tourism infrastructure and public services, boosting the island’s economy.

However, critics warn that increased access to online gambling could lead to higher rates of addiction. The CGCSC has emphasized that robust player protection measures are in place.
